Support Services Divisions performs the administrative support functions, including hiring and training, crime prevention, along with investigative support functions, including keeping records, maintaining evidence, transcribing and reviewing reports, overseeing the holding cells, Firearms Training Center and the Motor pool.
General Investigation Unit (G.I.U.) performs specialized, detailed investigative duties on cases that have been initially investigated by the Patrol Division. They process scenes for evidence and fingerprints.
Communications Unit answers citizens telephone calls for service, both emergency and non-emergency, and dispatch police officers to handle any type of situation and deal with the public at the police window. They make computer entries and queries along with maintaining the police report files and handle other duties as needed.
